Try to keep the baby lizard alive
while I call an ambulance. I’m not sure
this will change anything. Don’t let it fall
into the permanent past, because there’s
a weird green light on the horizon
& it’s not aurora borealis,
& we’re not asleep. Ignore the dreamlike
qualities of the dream. Take measurements
of something, if it makes you feel better—
do it twice & it becomes tradition.
