INCUBATION, by Andrew Lundwall

what comes before a rooster's papier-mâché  veins
when silver flares knock the pins in a flurry of trumpet

if dragnet of glandular puffins or wallet-sized photos
then a distance completely are thought clouds of infancy

imagine a table a glass shatterly two sitting in green coffee
very every as two sets of eyes unload pez dispenser traumas

swallowing out over slumber curls opens disoriented portholes
where the offspring prints curtseyed fifteen spent contrivances
